Many people see space exploration as a waste of resources. Of course, there is a counter-argument that scientific discoveries have inherent cultural value, that space-related initiatives often stimulate international cooperation, or that the space sector is of key technological and economic importance.
However, the most effective argument might be to simply point to the multitude of everyday items that would not exist without space research. NASA spinoff— part of the U.S. space agency’s technology transfer program — includes almost every commercial technology derived from U.S. space research. It shows that no space program has had a greater impact on everyday life than the Apollo lunar missions.
