X is facing an investigation by the European Commission over sexualized deepfakes generated by his Grok AI chatbot. IN his announcementThe commission says it will assess whether previously by New York Times.
“The sexual imitation of women and children is a brutal, unacceptable form of degradation,” says Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, in a press release. “As part of this investigation, we will determine whether X complied with his legal obligations under the DSA or treated the rights of European citizens – including women and children – as collateral damage to his services.”
X could be fined up to 6 percent of its annual worldwide revenue if it is again found to be in violation of the DSA.
