The up-to-date AI Amazon agent is designed for shopping

Amazon has launched a up-to-date AI model, Nova Act, which was designed to perform tasks – such as online shopping – in a browser. For now, it is only available for programmers in “research preview”, but Amazon also expands access to other AI Nova models via the internet portal, which makes it easier to find and operate them.

Nova Act It is a up-to-date model whose function sounds similar to the OPENAI operator agent. Amazon says that ACT can conduct internet searches, make purchases or answer questions about what is on the screen, including the option to perform tasks in the schedule. It can also recognize more detailed instructions – such as the saying “do not accept insurance” when buying. ACT is currently only available to programmers, but Amazon claims that it is already used to perform some online tasks in an updated assistant Alexa Plus.

ACT is the first product released by Amazon’s Artificial General Intelligence (Agi) Labs, what he says His “dream” is for agents “performing broadly extensive, complex, multi -stage tasks, such as organizing a wedding or support for complex IT tasks to increase business efficiency.” Amazon and Opennai are not now the only companies chasing AI agents, in the hope that people are ready to pay for AI assistants capable of performing tasks, and not just answer questions or generating the art of Ghibli.

ACT joins the other five NOVA models for the first time announced in December 2024, which include the trio of “understanding” of models, as well as image and video generators. Instead of claiming that he offers the most powerful AI models, Amazon instead emphasized the speed and value of the Nova apartment, which he thinks are “at least 75 percent cheaper” than comparable rivals.

Amazon now adds a way for programmers and other people in the US to get access to these models more directly: website This allows them to operate models to answer queries or generate content. The models were previously available only via Amazon Bedrock, AI model platform in Amazon Web Services, which offers access to Nova with third -party models from Deepseek, Anthropic, Meta and others. Rohit Pragad, SVP from Amazon Agi, says that the site aims to “quickly test their ideas with Nova models, and then implement them on a scale in Amazon Bedrock.”
