The launch of Grok xAI’s AI image editing feature caused chaos in X after it was used to generate a flood of nonsensical, sexual deepfakes. As Hayden Field wrote, “the screenshots show Grok complying with requests to put real women in lingerie and spread their legs and put little children in bikinis.”
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called deepfakes “disgusting”, saying: “We need X[s] gather your strength and collect this material. We will take action on this because it is simply unacceptable.’
