Picsart partners with Getty to take on Adobe’s “commercially safe” AI

Image and video editing platform Picsart has partnered with Getty Images to launch a “responsible, commercially safe” AI image generator that is trained only on the stock image platform’s licensed content.

This is Picsart its AI lab is building a custom model from scratch that will power the tool, allowing paid subscribers to the platform to generate images with full commercial rights – a move aimed at allaying long-standing concerns about potentially infringing AI-generated content. The Picsart/Getty Images generator tool is expected to launch “later this year” and will be available via Picsart API Services.

Getty has previously worked on other commercial AI products, announcing similar partnerships with Bria AI AND Runwayand partnering with Nvidia to launch its own “Generative AI by Getty Images” tool using the company’s huge library of licensed images. Considering that Adobe has implemented its Firefly model in hugely popular applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Express, it may be hard to convince creators to switch to the upcoming Picsart offering.
