The president of Opeli, Altman himself on Monday announced the launch of agentkit, a set of tools for building and implementing AI agents during the Dev Day event.
“Agentkit is a complete set of structural blocks available on the open AI platform designed to help you take agents from the prototype for production. This is all you need to build, implement and optimize the flow of agents’ work flows with much less friction,” said Altman.
Starting emphasizes OpenAI’s pursuit to raise developers’ adoption by increasing and easier to build an agent. It also signals a competitive traffic against other AI platform races to offer integrated tools for building autonomous agents for enterprises that can perform convoluted tasks, not just hints.
Agentkit was one of several advertisements at Dev Day Openai, including launching the possibility of building applications directly in ChatgPT, which reached 800 million energetic users.
The agent includes several basic possibilities. The first is Agent Builder, which Altman described as Canva for construction agents.
“This is a quick, visual way to design logic, steps, ideas,” said Altman. “There is answers built on API, which are used by hundreds of thousands of programmers.”

EVALS for agents introduces AI agent performance tools, including grading step by step traces, data sets for assessing individual agent elements, automatic quick optimization and the ability to run ratings on external models directly from the OpenAI platform.
Finally, the agent includes access to the register of OPENAI connectors so that programmers can safely connect agents with internal tools and third parties’ systems via the “administrator control panel” while maintaining security and control.
To prove how simple it is to exploit agent, Christina Huang, Openai engineer, built a whole flow of AI work and two AI agents living on stage in less than eight minutes.
“That’s all we would like when we tried to build our first agents,” Altman said, noting that Opennai has already signed several starting partners who have already scaled agents using agentkit.
