Openai hired Fidji Simo, Instacart General Director and former head of the Facebook application as the head of the company’s application company. In the post on xAltman himself, the general director of Opeli, claims that the introduction of a up-to-date role will allow him to “focus on research, calculations and security.”
Simo served as a member of the Openai board since last year, but he will not leave Instacart immediately to join the AI giant. In the post on LinkedInSimo tells Instacart staff that “he is not going anywhere for several months”, adding that he will remain the general director until the company announces his successor.
Applications have become the main part of OpenAI’s activity, because ChatgPT has started on iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS. Opeli also builds a x-like social network, like The Verge reported in April.
