Nvidia will start selling this week it’s the “personal AI supercomputer” DGX Spark. The machine is powerful enough to enable users to work with sophisticated AI models, but petite enough to fit on a desktop computer.

Nvidia said Spark can be ordered online at nvidia.com starting Wednesday, October 15, and also at select partners and stores in the US. When Spark was revealed earlier this year, it was stated that the units would cost $3,000, but it looks like the DGX Spark will now cost $3,999, according to the infographic posted in Nvidia’s press release. Most PC manufacturers have their own customized version, such as the Acer Veriton GN100, which also costs $3,999.

Spark boasts performance that once required access to exorbitant, power-hungry data centers. This could lend a hand democratize artificial intelligence and would be particularly useful for researchers. When he first announced Spark (then called Digits) earlier this year, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that “putting an AI supercomputer on the desks of every data scientist, AI researcher and student enables them to engage with and shape the era of AI.”

Buyers can expect to see many similar models on the market, as Nvidia has stated that third-party manufacturers can create their own versions. Acer, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo and MSI are debuting their own customized versions of Spark, Nvidia confirmed today.

Spark is equipped with an Nvidia GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, 128 GB of unified memory and up to 4 TB of NVMe SSD storage. Nvidia claims it can deliver petaflops of AI performance – meaning it can perform a million billion calculations per second – and is capable of running AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. It’s also petite, fits comfortably on a desk, and is powered by a standard electrical outlet. Nvidia calls it “the world’s smallest AI supercomputer.”

Correction, October 13: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the DGX Spark was “available for purchase now.” It will actually go on sale on October 15.
