When you add a YouTube link to NotebookLM, it uses artificial intelligence to provide a brief summary of the key topics covered in the transcript. When I fell in EdgeiPhone 16 Pro reviewNotebookLM generated topics discussed in the video, such as “Apple Intelligence”, “iPhone 16 Pro Camera”, and “Photo Processing”, in the chat window.
After clicking on some topics, I discovered that NotebookLM backs up the information provided in the chat window with a quote that links directly to the place in the transcript where it is mentioned. You can also create an audio review based on the content in the form of a podcast-style discussion led by AI.
I found that this feature worked for most of the videos I tried, except for those posted in the last two days.
While both Google’s Gemini and Microsoft’s Copilot can summarize YouTube videos using transcripts, NotebookLM provides several starting points to lend a hand you learn more about a topic. In addition to adding support for YouTube videos, Google announced that NotebookLM now also supports audio recordings, allowing you to search call transcripts for specific information and create study guides.
