The upcoming NBC coverage includes the generated AI Voice Jim Fagan, a long -term sports narrator who died in 2017. Advertisement on TuesdayNBC said that the generated AI Voice of Fagan will appear in selected title sequences, the show opens and promotions when the network resumes the issue of NBA games in October.
Fagan’s voice appeared in the NBC NBA in 1990–2002, where he became known for his own Promo “NBA on NBC”. He also told promotions and openers for the biggest league stars, such as Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and Hakeem Olajuwon.
With the consent of the Fagana family, NBC will now utilize artificial intelligence to recreate its voice. NBC has already revealed its first promotion using a voice generated by Fagan, which can be heard in video set below.
“His voice perfectly captured the size of duels and heavyweight stars, which he presented,” said the President of NBC Sports in a press release. “Working with Jim’s family was a joy to recreate his voice and honor his heritage.” NBC says that the voice generated by AI Fagan “will complement the traditional voice work of other artists.”
