Microsoft Outlook now has AI-powered active themes

Microsoft is adding AI-powered themes to Outlook today. Called “Themes by Copilot,” this AI-powered feature will require a Copilot Pro or business license to add a more personalized look to your Microsoft email client.

The themes will appear in Outlook for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and the web. They are designed to make Outlook more stunning and accessible. according to Microsoft.

You’ll be able to create a theme based on weather or location that will dynamically update every few hours, daily, weekly or monthly. “If you’ve enabled location permissions in Outlook, the My Location theme will display location-inspired images that will dynamically update when you go on a trip or vacation,” Microsoft says.

Each AI-generated theme has a background wallpaper on the desktop version of Outlook or at the top of the iOS and Android apps. An accent color is also available to motivate the rest of the Outlook client.

Microsoft is also making a collection of non-AI-enabled themes available for anyone who doesn’t have a Copilot license. The collection includes green, red, and purple themes that are available in the web versions of Outlook on PC, Mac, and mobile computers.
