The next time you scroll through your Instagram and Facebook feeds, you may see an AI-edited video ad. This comes as Meta is testing recent AI video editing capabilities that will allow advertisers to animate images as well as expand video borders.
With the AI animation tool, advertisers can upload a immobile image and then employ the Meta tool to “generate” the video. As you can see in this example, the AI Meta tool makes the strawberries in the background slowly float around the jar.
The recent tools can also enlarge an existing video. It uses artificial intelligence to generate “invisible pixels in each video frame” to escalate its size, much like some AI image editing tools allow you to expand the background of an image. Meta is already starting to roll out these features and plans to make them more widely available early next year.
