Meta announces another pair of clever glasses from Oakley. The Restricted-Edition Oakley Metn (pronounced “How-Stuhn”) costs $ 499 Available for pre -order order From July 11. Other Oakley models with META technology will be available from $ 399 later this summer.
Like the existing glasses of Meta Ray-Ban, the Oakley model has a front camera, along with speakers and impusive microphones built into the frame. After pairing with the phone, glasses can be used to listen to music or podcasts, conduct phone calls or chat with meta AI. Using a deck camera and microphones, Meta AI can also answer questions about what someone sees and even explains languages.
Considering the Oakley project, the meta positions these fresh glasses as addressed to athletes. They have an IPX4 water resistance assessment and offer a double life of meta-rescue batteries, providing 8 hours of exploit, along with a charging housing, which can power them up to 48 hours. The built-in camera now shoots 3K video, in the amount of 1080p for meta-bans.
The fresh composition is in five Oakley Frame combinations and lenses, all of which are compatible with prescriptions for additional costs. The frame colors are balmy gray, black, brown smoke and neat, with several lens options available, including transitions. The circumscribed edition of $ 499, available to order from July 11, has golden accents and golden oakley Prism lenses. The glasses will be on sale in the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Meta recently signed a long-term contract with Essilorluxottica, a home company standing behind Ray-Ban, Oakley and other glasses. So far, Meta Ray-Bans has sold over two million couples, and Essilorluxottica has recently revealed that it is planning to sell 10 million wise meta glasses annually by 2026. “This is our first step in the performance category,” tells me Alex Himel, head of Meta of Caarable. “There is more.”
