Lenovo seems poised to launch novel, more affordable Copilot Plus computers. Reliable leak Evan Blass published a Lenovo press release detailing a range of Copilot Plus computers set to be unveiled at IFA later this week, including two powered by an unannounced 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor.
Lenovo’s novel Qualcomm-powered Copilot Plus computers include the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1, a convertible with a 14-inch OLED display, and the IdeaPad Slim 5x, an all-metal clamshell laptop with the option of a 14-inch OLED display. Both feature the novel 8-core Snapdragon X Plus chip, up from the standard 10-core version.
Lenovo is listing a starting price of €899 (about $990) for the Slim 5x and €999 for the IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1, with availability for both models expected in September. These European prices suggest the Copilot Pluses will launch for €200 less than the Surface Laptop 7’s €1,199 retail price — technically, it’s the cheapest Copilot Plus available right now.
It’s unclear, however, whether Lenovo’s novel Copilot Plus PCs’ U.S. pricing will be anything like the discounts we’re seeing on full retail prices for some models. You can I am currently buying Dell Inspiron 14 Plus for $799.99 or HP OmniBook X for $899.99. Both Copilot Plus computers are marked down and tax-free. They feature 10- or 12-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
Lenovo also plans to launch other Copilot Plus computers with Intel and AMD processors. The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is a 15-inch laptop that is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, while the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 and IdeaPad Slim 5 are powered by the latest AMD Ryzen processors.
