Google will do it now use artificial intelligence to help you “try on” shoes sitting at home. Now, when browsing shoes on Google Shopping, you can click the “Try On” button on the fresh heels, sneakers or sandals you’re viewing to see how they’ll look on you.
In case you’re wondering, you don’t have to send photos of your feet to Google for this feature to work. An example shared by the company shows someone uploading a full-length photo of themselves while Google’s AI transforms the white sneakers she’s wearing into several different shoes, including a pair of black open-toe heels.
When I tried Google’s Doppl app, which similarly displays AI-generated clips of you in a fresh outfit, the company made it clear that it could generate a pair of feet on its own.
Google first began testing its AI-powered clothing try-on feature on shirts, pants, dresses and skirts in May and then rolled it out globally. all US users in July. In addition to support for shoes, Google announced it will expand opportunities to trial the AI to other clothing in Australia, Canada and Japan “in the coming weeks.”
