Multi-app support relies on existing Gemini app extensions, which include a wide range of Google apps and narrow third-party options, including WhatsApp and Spotify. Today’s update adds Samsung’s own apps to the list for S25 users – including Samsung Calendar, Notes, Reminders and Clock – but other multi-extension tooltips are now available to all Gemini users on the web and on Android and iOS devices.

With all these improvements, Samsung has made Gemini the default virtual assistant on the up-to-date S25 phones, finally replacing its own Bixby assistant. You can still access Bixby on phones – the app comes pre-installed – but by default, a long press on the power button will now open Gemini.

The circle to search is also getting improvements. It will be able to automatically recognize phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs so you can interact with them more easily. AI overviews in search results have also been expanded to support more types of visual search results, increasing the likelihood that using Circle to Search on an image of a place, piece of art or object will generate an AI overview in the results.

Finally, Google announced it too changes this should make it easier to pair braille screen readers and hearing aids with Android devices.

Google today announced up-to-date features with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra on Galaxy Unpacked. Two hours earlier, the companies revealed the up-to-date Galaxy Watch for Kids mode on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 LTE. Adds kid-friendly apps and watch faces and improved parental controls.
