Google Faced Gemini Ai output in the Super Bowl advertisement

Share

It seems that Google has a forged AI output in a commercial set to run during Super Bowl. ADVERTISING shows the owner of the company using Gemini to write a website description, but the text presented as generated by AI was available on the company’s website from at least August 2020, as shown On this archived website.

Google did not start Gemini only in 2023, which means that Gemini could not generate a description of the site, as shown in the advertisement.

Google advertising has already been studied to display the twins generating incorrect information. In the advertisement, the originally current copy of Gemini states that Gouda is responsible for “50 to 60 percent of global cheese consumption” – which is not true. Google later edited the advertisement to remove statistics, and the company owner also removed it from his website.

But Google maintained that the description of the site was written by Gemini all the time. In addition to showing Gemini, he “generates” a description in the advertisement, President Google Cloud Apps Jerry Dischler said on x That Gouda Stat was “no hallucination”, adding that “Gemini is grounded on the internet.”

Asked why Google removed incorrect details from the advertisement, said Google Michele spokesman The Verge that the owner of the company suggested “twins rewriting the product description without statistics”. Then Google “updated the interface to reflect what the company would do.” But it seems that the description – at least the original – was never written by Gemini at the beginning.

The Verge He contacted Google with a request for comment, but I will not immediately know.
