Google Cloud and the Indonesian Ministry of Health are exploring the operate of generative artificial intelligence in the national health data platform SatuSehat.
Recently, organizations have partnered to develop generative AI-based applications in healthcare.
Putri Alam, director of government relations and public policy at Google Indonesia, revealed at a recent Google event in Jakarta that one of the healthcare areas they intend to integrate genAI into is SatuSehat.
GREATER CONTEXT
As part of the collaboration, Google Cloud provides the Indonesian government with a secure environment to test and further develop Google’s genAI models, including MedLM. Their In addition to enabling better access to health information, the partnership hopes that genAI will also enable more right diagnoses and treatment plans, all while ensuring the privacy and security of patient data.
The cooperation of the Ministry of Health with Google Cloud is a continuation of the partnership existing since 2022 aimed at improving data management and developing technology-based health services.
That same year, the Ministry of Health redesigned its previous COVID-19 tracking app PeduliLindung in SatuSehat, which is currently the basis for the digital transformation of the healthcare system.
SatuSehat adopts the HL7 FHIR health data sharing standards to securely capture standard patient data from healthcare providers. Last year, InterSystems expanded its IRIS for Health data management platform in Indonesia to facilitate regulatory compliance for healthcare providers in the country that share SatuSehat data.
Indonesians can now access your health records through the mobile version of SatuSehat. In addition to lab reports, more types of health information are expected to be available on the SatuSehat mobile device soon, including: radiological images such as ultrasound, ECG, CT and MRI.
Meanwhile, as part of its digital transformation initiatives, the Ministry of Health has sought to do just that measure the initial digital maturity of provincial and district/municipal health services, hospitals and health care facilities. The results released in March show that 146 participating facilities received an average rating of 2.73 out of 5.00, while 10 provincial health clinics, 10 district/municipal health clinics and 10 hospitals received a rating of 4.52, which was considered “excellent” ” maturity.
