Transient chats maintain a bit more private. For example, the conversation diary will not appear on the left side of the screen when it ends, just like normally. Transient chats are not protected enough that you should feel comfortable by sharing private information – definitely do not still do it – but this is a nice option for conversations that you do not necessarily need or want to save for your own utilize later.
The ChatgPT memory function has become better over time. While some information about you will be stored passively when using the tool (unless you turn it off in the settings), I think that it is actively involved in the memory of chatgpt, informing that your preferences lead to a better experience of the software.
