YouTube Shorts’ up-to-date video generation technology will aid millions of people realize their artistic vision

Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for generating artistic content are improving rapidly, but seamless ways to operate them are still not widely available.

We’re changing that and making these amazing technologies more accessible to millions of creators and billions of users around the world. Over the next few months, we’ll be making our advanced generative AI models, Veo and Imagen 3, available to YouTube creators via Dream screen.

From our breakthrough Transformer architecture Thanks to years of research in diffusion models, these models are built on nearly a decade of innovation at Google and are now optimized for operate at scale.

Throughout this journey, we’ve worked closely with artists and creators, guided by their curiosity and feedback, to ensure our technologies aid more people realize their artistic vision.

Creators will soon be able to generate videos using Dream Screen

Thanks to Veo’s integration with Dream Screen, YouTube creators will soon be able to generate exhilarating backgrounds for their Low videos. Early next year we will also enable the generation of 6-second standalone videos.

Starting with an initial text message, Dream Screen uses Imagen 3 to generate four different images. Creators can choose an image in their preferred style, composition or aesthetic. Based on the selected image, Veo generates a high-quality 6-second background video tailored to the user’s artistic vision.

In 2025, creators will also be able to operate Dream Screen to generate 6-second standalone video clips for their Shorts, such as a cinematic underwater reveal of the Golden Gate Bridge.
