ChatGPT joins the flood of apps offering users annual summaries. His introduction of the “Year in Review” function. this will show you a bunch of stats – like the number of messages sent to the chatbot in 2025 – as well as an AI-generated pixel-style image that covers some of the topics you talked about this year.
The photo I received showed the aquarium next to a game cartridge, Instant Pot, and a computer screen, which reflected some of the questions I had about retro game consoles, cooking, and aquarium setup.
There are also other personalized summaries, such as a breakdown of the most common topics in your chats, a description of your chat style, and the day you sent the most messages to the chatbot. You’ll also see an “archetype” that puts you into a category based on how you’ve used the app this year, like “The Producer” or “The Navigator,” along with a customized reward like the one I got: “Instant Pot Prodigy.”
The annual summaries are now available to users in the US, UK, Canada, Fresh Zealand and Australia. It is only available if you have given ChatGPT permission to reference your past conversations and personal preferences. You can find the year you are viewing by selecting the option on the ChatGPT app home page on your mobile device or desktop computer, or by asking ChatGPT to “show my graded year.”
