Apple’s second developer beta of iOS 18.2 includes a modern update integration feature with ChatGPT: users will be able to update to ChatGPT Plus from the Settings menu, 9 to 5Mac reports.
ChatGPT Plus is the paid version of OpenAI’s ChatGPT features like more news with GPT-4o for $19.99 per month. If you employ ChatGPT frequently on iOS – you will be able to do this track in Settings if you get close to your daily free limit of ChatGPT’s more powerful capabilities – the upgrade may be worth it.
It’s unclear whether Apple takes a cut of subscriptions made in Settings. Apple and OpenAI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Apple is also reportedly in talks with Google about integration with Google Gemini. If this happens, I suspect there will also be some sort of upgrade path in Settings for Gemini Advanced.
