Both OmniBooks have 14-inch LCD touchscreens with 2240 x 1400-pixel resolutions, but the fresh Ultra model includes a few miniature updates. In addition to two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports (and the older USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port), the Ultra’s webcam has been increased to 9MP and quad speakers that support DTS:X Ultra instead of just stereo speakers.
At 3.48 pounds, the OmniBook Ultra is also half a pound heavier than the OmniBook X AI, in part due to a larger 68Wh battery. Although the Ultra’s battery is larger than the X AI’s 59Wh battery, the OmniBook Ultra offers slightly shorter battery life, up to 13 hours of average operate or up to 21 hours of local (non-streaming) video playback.
The fresh OmniBook Ultra won’t be a Copilot Plus at launch, but HP plans to provide a free update at some point that will add those features and functionality. HP says the timing and availability of the update “will depend on Microsoft.”
