Spotify gives users more control over which songs are spitting out according to the AI DJ function. From today, Spotify Premium subscribers can now employ English voice commands to personalize what music DJ they want to play, instead of relying on the constantly changing playlist, which it orders on the basis of their listening habits.
Users can access these fresh possibilities by pressing and holding the “DJ” button in the lower right corner when using the AI DJ function and listening to the sound signal. Users can then orally tell DJ -Bot what they want to hear, for example “Play Me Some Electronic Beats south” or “surprise me with independent songs that I have never heard before.”
Before updating, this button would just randomly change any song you were currently listening to and did not allow users to control what will be played. Now Spotify says that users can direct it to play specific artists, genres and moods. He also borrows some of the highest musical recommendations based on the climate from the Building Playlist Building function, which Spotify introduced in the beta version in the beta version, which creates a list of songs based on text hints. For example, users can ask AI DJ to “play me music to on the soundtrack of my life as a movie.”
This fresh voice command update is currently the only way for users to have control over what songs AI DJ plays, which is a bit awkward if you employ a function in an environment where you can’t be a conversation.
