An Australian biotechnology company is building an artificial intelligence-powered hospital in Vietnam.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT
MedArmor AI Hospital will implement a preventive care model, emphasizing early detection of diseases and timely interventions. It will be based on artificial intelligence and virtual care technologies.
The hospital will primarily apply virtual technologies such as video conferencing to deliver care. Apart from this, it will also offer telestroke treatment, electronic intensive care units and online consultations between providers.
As part of its core EMR system, the hospital will apply “advanced artificial intelligence to collect and analyze patient health data, providing actionable information for preventive screenings and personalized medical guidance.” Core8 develops artificial intelligence that predicts health outcomes, identifies potential risks and recommends preventive measures. It also offers an AI-powered medical imaging health screening tool.
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
On its website, Core8 explains that Vietnam’s AI Hospital will address key industry challenges, namely equity, cost, environmental sustainability and employee well-being.
Leads a virtual care model to expand access to disease diagnosis and treatment to underserved and resource-limited health care communities; remote health monitoring also helps reduce their expenses.
Because it uses virtual technology, it also eliminates waste and pollution, and enables patients to reduce their carbon footprint because they no longer have to travel long distances.
Additionally, the AI-powered hospital will streamline administrative processes so that clinicians and staff can focus more on patient care and professional development.
A BIGGER TREND
The AI Core8 hospital will be located in the 700-hectare Duc Hoa 3 industrial park in Vietnam’s Long An province. In August, the Australian company joined a consortium transforming the area – located near Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam – into a center for the biotechnology and semiconductor industry.
In recent years, Vietnam has been looking for international partners that could support the digital transformation of various industries. In healthcare, for example, it signed its first healthcare AI partnership with a company Microsoft last year.
The country is also working to introduce clever healthcare by next year. The basis for this is the EMR system that has been announced Nationwide expansion in October.
Meanwhile, a technology-based virtual hospital is nothing modern; this concept has gained popularity since the last pandemic. In 2022 The Seha Virtual Hospital has opened in Saudi Arabia, considered the world’s largest virtual hospital serving 480,000 patients annually.
