Grilling technology startup Brisk showed off its latest sharp grill at CES, which uses generative artificial intelligence to automate cooking and create personalized recipes. The $399 Zelos 450 Electric Wood Pellet Smoker has a 450-square-inch cooking surface and Wi-Fi connectivity that allows you to remotely adjust settings and monitor your food while cooking via a mobile app.
The bigger question is whether you actually want AI to come between you and your grilling. Brisk It claims that Vera’s AI can “monitor, control and automate cooking” at the touch of a button, sending users notifications about cooking progress and reminders to do things like wrap ribs or spray them with water. If these prompts are missed or ignored, the AI will automatically adjust the grilling temperature to prevent food from being damaged. As absurd as it sounds, the company’s earlier models received some positive reviews for helpful automation.
The latest Vera 2.0 model on the Zelos 450 includes up-to-date features such as Knowledgeable Image Recognition, which uses photos of ingredients to generate recipes, and Recipe Playback, which allows you to transform existing recipes into versions that can be automated on the grill.
The Zelos 450 has a temperature range of 180-500 degrees Fahrenheit, which allows for both tardy cooking and high-temperature grilling. Brisk Says it will be available for purchase at Amazon, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart and Brisk It Grills online store sometime in Q1 2025
