Last week, Google announced several recent products, from Gemini 2.0 and Project Mariner to Android XR and Project Moohan. As always with Google, there seems to be a lot things not necessarily a coherent plan behind it. However, if you look closely enough and start putting some pieces together, the combination of these announcements could result in something like Google’s vision for the future of everything.
ON this episode Vergecast (our last Tuesday episode this year), EdgeKylie Robison and Victoria Song join the show to ask questions at Google. They describe their experiences with all of Google’s recent projects and experiments, and explain why Google thinks XR could be a killer application for artificial intelligence – and vice versa.
Then Chris Grant, the group’s publisher Edge AND Polygonjoins to talk about two of the biggest stories in the gaming industry for 2025: upcoming releases Grand Theft Auto VI and Nintendo Switch 2. Explains why GTA is such an crucial and enduring gaming brand, why he’s sure Switch 2 won’t be like Wii U, and why the entire gaming world is so eagerly awaiting these two things.
Finally, we answer your question from the Vergecast Hotline (call 866-VERGE11 or email vergecast@theverge.com!) with aid The Verge publisher Helena Havlak. Last week Helen mentioned that she uses Figma to manage her garden and let’s just say you all had some extra questions about it. So Helen came back to explain her whole system.
