Patients like me (PLM), a patient engagement and activation platform, announces the launch of Ella, an AI assistant that helps women manage their health, powered by Ema’s generative AI platform.

Ella serves as a personal health assistant, helping women manage their health and well-being through personalized, evidence-based guidance.
Additionally, Ella provides tailored resources and guidance to make medical information accessible and understandable. The platform tailors engagement to an individual’s unique health experiences, personal history and cultural background.
According to PLM, Ella also helps healthcare enterprises improve health outcomes by leveraging AI support to offer resource allocation, individual patient engagement, and input of synthetic and actionable information.
“We have a 20-year history of patients sharing their experiences with their disease,” said Chris Renfro, PLM chief operating officer .
“Ella allows us to turn this into an intuitive user interface so users don’t have to wade through the site. Now we can connect them much more easily with the insights and information they are looking for.”
Renfro noted that PLM has the same drivers, synergies and overlapping missions as the Ema team, including the companies’ approach to the market.
“At its core, and what Ella will do, is to help patients learn how to empower themselves to become part of their own care team,” said Amanda Ducach, CEO of Ema .
Ducach said Ema is the foundational native, generative AI that companies can build their user interfaces on, and that supports third-party technology to offer capabilities that it likely couldn’t provide without Ema’s AI.
“[Ema] it gives patients the opportunity to become an actual member of their care team because it has something to assist them learn how to advocate for their doctors,” Ducach said.
Ducach added that the combination of PLM and Ema helps patients more efficiently obtain the resources they need, such as information about the medications they need.
“This is what happens when you see what Ella does in conjunction with an amazing resource application like PLM,” Ducach said.
