What are they like? key differences between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot and other leading AI tools? Which one is the best? How concerned should you be about AI systems using your personal data? Are the reported inaccuracies and biases regarding AI platforms really as bad as what I read?

Earlier this month, we asked you, WIRED subscribers, to submit your questions about generative artificial intelligence. These are just some of the excellent inquiries we have received. On November 20, we hosted a live Q&A with WIRED’s Reece Rogers, author of the “AI Unlocked” newsletter, the monthly AI advice and ethics column “The Prompt,” and countless news and how-to articles about the impact of artificial intelligence on our lives .

In a 30-minute discussion, Rogers discussed the similarities and differences between the most popular generative artificial intelligence tools and shared which ones he was willing to pay extra for. He discussed the pros and cons of using AI-powered search instead of time-honored search engines and cautioned viewers not to ask chatbots for specific medical advice. Rogers answered several reader questions about the effectiveness of watermarks in signaling whether content was created using artificial intelligence. He also used his personal experiences to answer questions about the exploit of artificial intelligence in educational settings and the challenges teachers face in lightweight of the fact that their students have such basic access to artificial intelligence tools.
