Google from today Chrome OS 130 An update is rolling out with quick insert, focus mode, welcome summary, and more. Chromebook Plus models with NPU also have exclusive special features on the 130, such as a fresh AI recording app, improved microphone, camera effects, and Gemini AI tools such as “help me read” summaries.

The list of changes to the 130 is long, but here are some of the most crucial ones. Quick Insert is a way to add emojis, GIFs or links to recently visited sites and access AI features from the menu. On most devices, this means using the launcher or the Google button and the F key on your keyboard. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is the first Chromebook to replace the launch key with a fresh button that activates one-press quick insert, but more devices launching next year will also have it.

Focus Mode lets you turn on do-not-disturb mode and schedule time to reduce distractions while you’re working, while Welcome Summary is an optional feature that summarizes your recent activity so you can reopen apps and tabs to quickly get back to work.
