Google expands “Help me write” to Gmail on the weballowing users to create and modify emails using Gemini AI. Similar to mobile devices, users will be prompted to operate this feature when opening a blank draft in Gmail.

Google’s “Help me write” feature is only available to users who subscribe to Google One AI Premium or have the Gemini add-on for Workspace. In addition to generating a draft of your email, the “Help me write” feature can also provide suggestions on how to formalize, edit, or shorten your email.

Google is also adding a shortcut to the “Polish” option in the “Help Me Writing” toolkit, which will appear in drafts with more than 12 words. For Gmail on the web, users can click a shortcut or type Ctrl + H to quickly refine your email.

On mobile devices, the option will replace the existing “Improve My Draft” shortcut. Instead of swiping to see options to refine, formalize, expand or shorten an email, the app will automatically refine the message when you swipe the “Polish” shortcut. Users can then refine the message using Google’s other AI editing tools.

Google will gradually make the “Help me write” option available online, along with a fresh “Polish” shortcut that will be available starting today.
