Your iPhone 16 may receive the first Apple Intelligence features later this month

iPhone 16, despite its marketing so far, still lacks Apple Intelligence. According to the company, this is expected to change on October 28 with the release of iOS 18.1 BloombergMark Gurman in today’s edition Enable bulletin.

The update will include AI-powered notification summaries, Gurman writes. While it’s just this example, the iOS 18.1 beta also includes some improvements to Siri (like better understanding you when you stumble over words), along with typing tools and modern rainbow glowing edge graphics when you summon Siri on your phone or iPad .

Apple Intelligence only works on iPhone 15 Pro and later, but it’s also available in beta for Macs and iPads with Apple silicon chips (M1 and later), so even if you don’t have these iPhones, you may still be able to take this is for a ride. Looking ahead, it will reportedly be supported on the next iPhone SE.

We’ll still have to wait for some Apple Intelligence features. Siri doing tasks for you in multiple apps and using your information as context was not part of the beta – which may not arrive until March next year. Other features, including Apple Image Playground and Genmoji, may be available in December.
