HIMSS today announced an update to its Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity at the HIMSS24 Asia-Pacific conference in Seoul.
The earlier version of AMAM will now be called AMAM Classic and the upgraded version will be called AMAM24.
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT
AMAM’s up-to-date maturity framework focuses on five key imperatives for healthcare organizations:

-
Personalized analyses; AND
-
Impact and analysis results.
HIMSS redesigned AMAM to enable the successful adoption of advanced analytics, particularly artificial intelligence, by healthcare organizations to achieve priority outcomes. It starts with basic data, digital infrastructure and governance requirements.
Like other HIMSS maturity models, AMAM24 is built on a ladder of eight maturity stages – from zero to seven – to aid healthcare organizations optimize their health analytics capabilities by offering an evidence-based framework to improve data management, predictive analytics and the utilize of artificial intelligence.
A BIGGER TREND
Globally, 26 organizations have achieved Stage 6 and 13 for AMAM. In the APAC region, two organizations (China Medical University and Seoul National Bundang University Hospital) have reached AMAM stage 6. ON RECORDING
“AMAM24 does not specify what policy framework should be in place within an organization, but it does require evidence of an analytical strategy and governance policies that support and enable safety and quality of care,” said Widi Salim, senior advisor for digital health at HIMSS.
“AMAM24 expands on its previous focus on data and IT to now also include prescriptive analytics and data-driven decision-making.”
