Hitachi Vantara said Monday it can reduce multi-vendor friction as part of its private cloud strategy with a recent private and hybrid cloud environment designed to modernize hospitals’ IT infrastructure backbones and better meet their data needs.
Meanwhile, the largest rural health system in the United States also announced it is implementing cloud modernization across its medical centers, clinics, senior living facilities and other advanced care assets as part of a recent partnership with Infor.
Meanwhile, process automation company Qventus said it has added real-time data analytics capabilities to its perioperative and hospital care platforms, which could augment the number of cases available in the operating room by three to six cases per month, as well as automate tasks performed by doctors at the bedside after surgery.
VMware Launches Private Hybrid Cloud
Hitachi is committed to reducing costs and energy consumption in organizations by partnering with Broadcom, which bought VMware in November, the company said in a statement.
By combining automation and software-defined services with enterprise infrastructure, the recent hybrid private cloud can aid organizations modernize, delivering improved data efficiency and scale.
The platform deploys business and mission-critical workloads with a highly available mixed storage-based virtual server—VMware vSAN—and external storage, according to Hitachi. It eliminates friction between multiple vendors by providing a single source of truth for systems, solutions, and services.

Sanford Health partners with Infor
With unified processes, Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based Sanford Health will be able to break down barriers and integrate core enterprise functions, according to a statement from cloud business software provider Infor about the recent partnership.
The company said streamlining workflows across departments and getting real-time analytics could ease the burden on Sanford Health’s medical staff.
“We are committed to helping Sanford Health achieve greater operational efficiencies and deliver exceptional healthcare services to the communities it serves,” Steve Fanning, senior vice president of Infor, said in a statement.
Last week, Infor also announced that it had selected Amazon Bedrock to build and scale embedded generative AI applications.
Qventus adds AI to operating platforms
AI-powered digital assistants can aid physicians reduce the amount of time they spend on administrative tasks, which generate an estimated $13 billion in annual waste, according to Qventus.
To bridge the gap between data and action, the company added capabilities to analyze sophisticated data in real time, predicting patient needs and recommending specific actions. These capabilities were initially developed in partnership with vendors such as Ardent Health, Allina Health, HonorHealth, Northwestern Medicine and others.
With the operational support of AI, healthcare teams can practice “at the highest level of their capabilities,” the company’s CEO and co-founder, Mudit Garg, said in a statement.
Frontline staff using Copilot’s AI on their inpatient platform to streamline bedside tasks can improve patient outcomes, while using the AI assistant on the company’s perioperative care platform can automate procedural elements of surgical and postoperative coordination.
Additional information can aid hospitals prevent surgery cancellations, reduce the burden on healthcare teams and augment productivity.
“Fragmented surgical coordination is a critical clinical challenge for our healthcare partners,” Dr. David Atashroo, chief medical officer of Qventus, said in a statement.
This has “drastically” reduced HonorHealth’s administrative burden, said Kim Post, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
