Technology is a key factor in the transformation of healthcare.

Improving patient experiences and outcomes, reducing risk, and enhancing medical training and patient education are just some of the achievements of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented reality.

Effective apply of technological advances in healthcare must take into account the real needs of patients, says Jess Rengstorf, director of US healthcare strategy at Endava, a London-based software and technology services company specializing in digital transformation and automation.

According to her, by using virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence in patient care, healthcare providers can provide continuous and comprehensive patient monitoring, intervene earlier in the event of an illness or disease, and better personalize care.

However, collaboration is key to creating and implementing novel technologies that will support us achieve these higher goals.

“I think we need to work with interdisciplinary teams when we’re developing some of these AI solutions to make sure we’re meeting the needs of everyone involved and really focusing on the patients,” she explained on this week’s podcast.
