Features such as web models and responses, data analysis, graphing, vision, file transfers, storage, and custom GPT were available to paid users – ChatGPT Plus, Teams, and Enterprise – but are now available to anyone using ChatGPT.
While users of the free ChatGPT service can discover and operate custom GPTs – previously only available to paid subscribers – they will not be able to create their own. The custom versions of ChatGPT we’ve already used include both an on-demand thesaurus and an Ikea shopping guide. Custom GPT developers can also participate in a revenue-sharing program, which OpenAI began testing in March.
However, paying subscribers have another advantage: smaller message limits. When free users reach their message or call limit using GPT-4o, they will automatically revert to GPT-3.5.
One feature that users won’t hear, no matter what level they are on, is Sky’s controversial voice. OpenAI has made its voice heard, which is notable for its similarity to Scarlett Johansson’s performance in Herbut his other voices are still available on ChatGPT.
