FV Hospital launches AI-powered myopia check-up service
FV Hospital, one of the largest private hospitals in Vietnam, recently introduced a myopia control program for children and adolescents aged 3-18.
The recent service aims to screen teenage people for myopia risk, predict future levels of myopia and provide a plan to control the progression of myopia. It is offered annually and includes screening tests, treatment plans and tips for controlling myopia, including lifestyle changes and regular quarterly check-ups.
The core of the program is Myopia Master from the Australian company Myopia Profile. The device uses artificial intelligence to predict and analyze myopia progression. FV ophthalmologists employ this analysis to customize myopia management protocols for their patients.
In addition to Myopia Master, the program also relies on the Pentacam refractive measurement system, which assesses the curvature, thickness and condition of the cornea and detects congenital corneal diseases.
Sunway Medical Centre implements AI in radiology
Malaysia’s largest private tertiary hospital, Sunway Medical Centre in Sunway City, recently implemented an AI-based radiology solution from Australia.
The press release noted that Annalise.ai’s Chest X-ray (CXR) tool has been integrated into the hospital’s medical imaging system. According to Annalise.ai, this technology can identify up to 124 results on CXR in seconds.
SMC CEO Dr Seow Vei Ken said the AI-based solution will lend a hand doctors triage cases quickly and prioritize patients based on urgency.
Xiaomi supports breast cancer screening initiative in India
Consumer electronics giant Xiaomi is supporting world renowned cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s breast cancer screening initiative in India.
Singh’s non-profit foundation, YouWeCan, runs the Swasth Mahila Swasth Bharat project, which aims to screen 150,000 women in 15 Indian states for breast cancer in a year. It also aims to raise breast cancer risk awareness and self-esteem, as well as ensure early detection and timely treatment.
Without going into details, Xiaomi said it would share its technological expertise in providing community control gigantic communities.
