LG has teased that it will show off a modern robot for the “zero-labor home” at CES. We now have some more details on what to expect. The company says yes CLOiD home robot she can bring milk from the fridge, put a croissant in the oven, or even do the laundry, including folding and arranging clothes.
CLOiD isn’t the first laundry-folding robot we’ve seen, and it’s not even the only one at CES this year — SwitchBot’s Onero H1 can handle your trash can, too. LG is impressive, at least on paper. While Onero looks like someone put their hands on his shoulder Stop by and shop MartyCLOiD has two fully articulated arms with seven degrees of movement, mounted on the torso, that can be tilted and flexed.
Its head looks very similar to the Q9 robot, minus the handle, and will be able to communicate using spoken language and facial expressions. (Looking at an irritated robot from the side is truly the future.) Another major advantage will be CLOiD’s ability to integrate with sharp home devices. It’s basically a sharp home hub with your hands, but support for ThinQ and ThinQ ON allows it to work especially seamlessly with LG products. (Nothing strange about that.)
Now, does anyone actually I want Time will tell if there is a robot wandering around their house that they can rule, or if they can afford it at all. But LG clearly hopes we all yearn for a mechanical butler/maid/chef/personal trainer.
