To stop this harmful misappropriation and protect partner relationships, Google has developed and implemented a technological measure known as SearchGuard, which restricts access to search results pages and the copyrighted content they contain. However, in order to continue its free ride, SerpApi has developed a way to bypass SearchGuard. Using automated queries, SerpApi makes a series of false statements and evasions to bypass the technological security measures implemented by Google. But every time SerpApi uses these tricks, it violates federal law…
When SearchGuard launched in January 2025, it effectively blocked SerpApi from accessing Google search results and the copyrighted content of Google partners. However, SerpApi immediately began working on a way to bypass Google’s technological security. SerpApi quickly discovered ways and implemented them.
SerpApi’s answer to SearchGuard is to mask the hundreds of millions of automated queries sent to Google every day to make them appear to come from humans. SerpApi’s founder recently described this process as “creating fake browsers using multiple IP addresses that Google perceives as regular users.”
