The number of packages uploaded to EGO is growing every month and we’re seeing more and more people join the extension community to create their own extensions. Sometimes I spend over 6 hours a day reviewing over 15,000 lines of extension code and answering questions from the community.
Over the last two months, we have received many novel extensions to EGO. This is good because it can make the extension community grow even more, but there is one problem with some of the packages. Some developers exploit AI without understanding the code.
This led to receiving packages containing many unnecessary lines and bad practices. And once a bad practice is introduced in one package, it can have a domino effect by showing up in other extensions. This alone increased the waiting time for all packages to be checked.
