LinkedIn launches an AI-powered search feature that lets you find people based on the description of who you’re looking for. Now, instead of searching for an exact name, job title or company, you can enter a more descriptive search, such as “Northwest graduates who work in entertainment marketing,” or even ask a question, such as “Who can help me understand the US work visa system?”
From there, LinkedIn will utilize artificial intelligence to find the best matches for your query. Says LinkedIn’s Senior Director of Product Management, Rohan Rajiv Edge that the platform will rank results based on connections you may have with the person, as well as their relevance to your search.
In May, LinkedIn launched an AI-powered job search engine that allows people to search for jobs by describing their ideal career. Extending artificial intelligence to people search should make it much easier to find someone who can facilitate you with a specific task or if you’re looking for a potential contact in a field that interests you.
LinkedIn is rolling out its AI-powered people search feature to Premium users in the U.S. starting today, but the platform plans to roll it out to all users soon.
