Wearable technology company Even Realities has shown off its latest pair of “human-centric” intelligent glasses that it says won’t disrupt everyday life. The G2 Display smart glasses it doesn’t require outward-facing cameras or external speakers, which Even Realities says “removes the anxiety of being recorded, eavesdropped, or distracted by unwanted sounds.”

Shipping intelligent glasses with only a microphone may seem like a bold move in an age where it seems like every piece of technology is equipped with artificial intelligence, but at least you’ll have to worry less about the ethical issues posed by camera-equipped Meta glasses.

Even the novel Realities intelligent glasses still feature four microphones along with a display that combines micro-LED projectors, gradient waveguides and digital surface lenses. According to Even Realities, this creates a three-dimensional “floating surround display” with multiple layers designed to mimic the way the human eye processes information. Quick AI tips or insights will appear on the front layer, and things like navigation or notes will appear on the back. “The result is an experience that is less like looking at a screen and more like viewing a naturally enhanced reality,” Even Realities says.

You can navigate and scroll through the content using new smart ring R1which also offers some health tracking features. G2 Display intelligent glasses feature an AI-powered “Conversation” tool that displays prompts, clarifications and follow-up questions during conversations, as well as AI-generated summaries that appear afterwards. The company has also added improvements to the translation, navigation, and teleprompter features available on the previous generation G1 intelligent glasses, something that stood out to my colleague Victoria Song at CES.

Even Realities claims the novel intelligent glasses have an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as over two days of battery life on a single charge. G2 Display Sharp Glasses start at $599 and are available in two styles and with a wide range of prescription lenses. The R1 Sharp Ring is available separately for $249.
