According to Apple, Apple is preparing to power its improved Siri AI with a custom version of Google’s Gemini AI model report from BloombergMarek Gurman. The iPhone maker will reportedly pay Google around $1 billion a year for access to technology that will generate summaries and perform scheduling tasks.
As he noticed BloombergApple will run the custom Gemini model on its Private Cloud Compute servers, although it will still apply its own models to support some Siri features. Gurman reports that the Gemini model will apply 1.2 trillion parameters to lend a hand formulate answers, significantly more than the 150 billion-parameter model that underpins the cloud-based version of Apple Intelligence.
Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook told investors that the novel Siri is expected to arrive next spring, while leaving the door open for more third-party AI integrations with Apple Intelligence. Although Apple is reportedly continuing to cooperate with Google, Bloomberg claims that Apple will continue to develop its own artificial intelligence technology, which may eventually replace Gemini.
