Elon Musk’s XAI On Monday, he filed a lawsuit against Apple and Opeli, accusing companies of behavior like a monopole and a claim for analytized chatgpt rivals, such as grok in the App Store.
“This is a story about two monopolists joining forces to ensure their further dominance in the world quickly driven by the most powerful technology that humanity has ever created: artificial intelligence,” says the process. “While working in tandem, the accused Apple and Opeli closed the markets to maintain their monoples and prevent the competing of innovators such as X and Xai.”
GROK is currently taking third place in the App Store to get free performance applications – only ChatgPT and Gmail. The “non -percentage” chatbot is also integrated with the Musk X social platform, which is number one free information application at the App Store.
The lawsuit has a special problem with CHATGPT integration by Apple with the iOS operating system last year. “This means that if iPhone users want to use the generative Chatbot AI for key tasks on their devices, they have no choice but to use chatgPT, even if they prefer to use more innovative and ingenious products such as grok XAI,” says the lawsuit. Although Apple has not announced integration with other chatbots, the OpenAI partnership was not listed as exclusive to the premiere. Nothing in the Apple operating system prevents iPhone users access to chatbots such as grok.
“This latest application is in line with the constant pattern of harassing Mr. Musk,” said Opeli spokeswoman Kayla Wood in a statement for Wired. Apple did not immediately answer at the request for comment.
The effect of this alleged collusion is that consumers have a smaller choice, says Xai. “This impact on the market-and-effective competition, a smaller scale necessary for competing, less investments and less innovations-they harm consumers through lower quality, less choice and higher prices than in the world, without maintaining the anti-competitive defendants,” we read in the lawsuit.
Musk was a member of the Openai team before leaving in 2018, he finally founded the competing AI company in the form of XAI. E -Mail to the XAI press line with a request to comment on the claim reflected.
During dinner in San Francisco at the beginning of this month, the journalist asked the director general of OPENAI Altman himself, as he thinks about the relationship between OpenAI and Apple: “Maybe they decided, see, we do not intend to catch up in the models – there is sufficient competition. Is there a place where you want to be their main partner?”
Altman did not answer the question directly. “Apple is my favorite technology company that is not Opeli,” he said. Opeli is currently working with the eminent former Apple IVA designer on the AI hardware product. Altman said that during dinner the product would be a “new computer paradigm”, although it refused to provide the details of the project.
This is not the first time Musk sued Opeli. In 2024, Musk lodged a complaint against the manufacturer ChatgPT, claiming that the company abandoned its founding mission of the development of artificial intelligence to bring the benefits of humanity through the implementation of the structure focused on profit. While the company was originally designed as a non-profit organization, it later created a non-profit subsidiary for the purposes of obtaining funds. The company is in the process of passing through this company to become a corporation of public benefits – a movement that is of key importance for receiving billions of dollars from Softbank.
