The explosion of the Odra West Texas has ended

The huge explosion of the Oder in Texas, which affected 762 people, has now ended, as announced on Monday by the State Department of Texas Department of State Health Services. The agency claims that over 42 days have passed since any of the poviats had a up-to-date case, which previously showed evidence of the ongoing broadcast.

The explosion has contributed to the worst year in Odry in the United States for over 30 years. On August 5, the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention update, a total of 1356 confirmed cases of the Odra have been reported throughout the country this year. For comparison, in 2024 there were only 285 cases of measles.

The explosion of Texas began in January in the village community of Mennonites with low vaccination indicators. Over two -thirds of reported cases concerned children, and two children in Texas died of a virus. Both were not fractured and did not have known conditions. During the explosion, a total of 99 people were hospitalized, which is 13 percent of cases.

Odra is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can temporarily weaken the immune system, causing people susceptible to secondary infections such as pneumonia. In uncommon cases, this can also lead to brain edema and long -term neurological damage. It can also cause pregnancy complications, such as premature births and low birth weight. The best way to prevent the disease is the Odra, Pig and Różyczka (MMR) vaccine. One dose of vaccine is effective in relation to the Odra, while two doses are effective in 97 percent.

The Odra explosion is considered after 42 days, if no up-to-date cases have been discovered, because it is a double period of maximum incubation of the disease – the longest time can take it when a person is exposed to the virus and when he develops symptoms.

CDC defines the explosion as three or more related cases. The explosion of West Texas was associated with cases in neighboring states, Mexico and Canada.

While the explosion in Texas has ended, the cases of measles are still reported elsewhere in the country. According to CDC40 other states reported cases, in 2025 32 American explosions were reported, compared to 16 explosions in 2024.

The ongoing explosions expose the status of the elimination of the Odra of the Country. The designation means that there is no ongoing spread from the Odra for longer than 12 months. The United States reached this status in 2000 after years of increasing vaccination indicators, but almost lost it in 2019, when the cases of the Odra swept through the underrated orthodox Jewish communities in Modern York for most of the year.

Because vaccination indicators are still falling in the USA, public health researchers warn that probably the outbreaks of measles and other diseases are likely. One of the last reviewed articles was found that with the current vaccination rates at the level of measles vaccination, it could restore and become endemic again in the next two decades.
