The latest AI Windows Microsoft functions appeared on the fresh Copilot Plus computers last year, but they were confined to a special range of laptops. It looks like a change thanks to the Intel refreshing existing Lake Stationary Gench processors at the end of this year, which can simply provide Copilot Plus functions in the desktop computer forms.
The latest Intel Ultra Desktop processors started in October with NPU inside, but it was not able to hit the requirement of 40 TOPS for Microsoft to order Copilot Plus. Zdnet Korea Reports The fact that Intel is now preparing to refresh the arrow lake, which will contain higher clock speeds and more advanced NPU, which should be capable of Copilot Plus.
The fresh NPU design will report to the refreshed Core Ultra 200 offer to the newer project “NPU 4”, the same architecture of NPU found on Lunar Lake Lake processors, which in November got Copilot plus AI. This would allow real desktop computers with a talented NPU, instead of Copilot Plus available only on mini computers and “all-in-one computers that utilize laptop processors.
It seems that the newer NPU will be the main part of the Arrow Lake lake refreshment, because apparently it will not contain an additional processor or GPU cores in the existing Core Ultra 200 systems. More space on the chip for NPU will disappoint players who waited for the Intel to be more competitive in the stationary processor in space.
