Northwell Health expands the employ of a safety and safety technology package designed to ensure safety for employees and patients throughout the network.

Why does it matter
Working with Motorola Solutions, Fresh York Health System implements video safety and analytics tools powered by artificial intelligence, two -way radio communication, mass notifications and panic buttons technologies for better detection, analysis and hazard management.

Extended safety implementation – designed to protect staff and patients with a simultaneous priority of emergency care – is based on existing and extensive framework and crisis Northwell Health.

Northwell, which consists of almost 30 hospitals and over 1,000 outpatient-reset facilities, using the Avigilon Security Cameras function, which have analyzes that can identify unusual activity or potential threats, as well as a warning of the protection staff and clinical staff through two-way radios and other devices.

It also extends the employ of scalable digital communication designed to share the voice and data on many different devices, which hospital staff uses for communication-radiotelephones, smartphones and other-to support in combination of security teams, medical staff and administrators.

“Safety management in a developing health network can be complex,” said Mark Swensen, senior security, safety and crisis management at Northwell Health.

“Investing in a security system in which technologies work together, simplifies the scaling of new installations when hospitals and clinics join our network,” he added. “We can add more safety cameras or expand the use of the radio in many pages without challenges that can arise when security systems do not easily combine.”

Greater trend
Northwell, the largest healthcare system in the state of Fresh York, has become even greater this spring Connection with Nuvance Heath.

Even earlier, the healthcare system made gigantic investments in tools and IT in the field of safety and well -being of its employees and patients, as in the case of its implementation a few years ago advanced weapon detection technology.

Long -time president and general director of Northwell Michael Dowling – who announced his pension in May – he wrote for Healthcare It News in 2023 about how AI can support to ensure the safety of hospital staff.

“Dangerous work environments cause dissatisfaction of work, burnout and low performance level,” wrote Dowling. “This is an unbalanced reality – and yet there are available and effective multifactorial solutions.

“In addition to adopting new technologies, older leaders should also consider priorities for creating and implementing comprehensive plans to prevent violence in the workplace,” he added, “then socially through a training company.”

On the plate
“Northwell Health creates a safer work environment in which doctors, nurses and clinical teams can focus on what they do best: patients’ care,” said Scott Schoepel, Vice President of Video Safety and Access Control in Motorola.

“It establishes a standard of safety and safety in healthcare. We are proud of providing solutions that smoothly connect to their routine, offering peace of mind in safe and protected so that they can focus on caring for people who need them the most.”
