The Google Poppl application took off my socks

Share

I just tried five different outfits in about 10 minutes – at least my appearance AI. It’s all thanks to the POPPL, A new application that Google is testingwhich I created clips generated by AI, wearing costumes that I found on the internet. It works mainly, but has clear problems with placing pants in pictures in shorts, and even replaced my mismatched socks with AI generated feet in one case.

Using the application is quite basic. All you need is a screenshot of the outfit you want to try on-not meaninglessly from whether it comes from Pinterest, Instagram or other online source-a photo with a photo from the whole body in a glowing lightweight, a natural pose and without a hat. After sending both, you can generate Doppl by wearing a outfit. Generation takes some time, but when it does, you can hit the Animate icon to add a random animation, which can show that you toss the room sign, smiling and waving to the camera or hit another pose.

I wondered a basic photo in a t-shirt, shorts and socks. During my first trial session I chose one of the examples of Google outfits. The application was quite accurately depicted by a white and blue striped shirt, but it gave me red shorts instead of lean jeans and wrapped what should be the jeans around my calves, as if I were wearing leg heaters. Another outfit that I came up with from the screen A pair of difficult jeans. Once again, DopPP contained only half of the pants buttons, while making my T -shirt extremely long and ending around, where they make my shorts in real life.

Things became even stranger when I fed the doppl outfit that showed someone from my knees up, wearing a shirt with buttoned striped button And long, striped shorts. Instead of generating a similar outfit, they made the shorts even shorter and gave me a few somewhat convincing false feet.

Although some other outfits that I sent to DopPL did not show the user’s shoes, they still generated some footwear for these appearances. (Who knows, maybe Ai Google just thought that the outfit would look good with bare feet?)

During my tests, I discovered that POTP will not allow me to send photos of more revealing outfits that I found on the internet, like someone wearing a bikini. It would also not allow my friend, Marina Galperina, to send the image of President Donald Trump. These handrails can make it arduous for someone to create false images of public figures or generate clear photos of a person.

However, a strange pattern appeared when Marina and I sent a mirror selfie to apply to try the outfits virtually. Instead of staying relatively close to how we look in real life, Doppl made both our Lookalikes thinner, to the extent that we reminded the figures of Bobblehead. The problem did not appear when I used other photos of the whole body that someone else took.

Google has a virtual trial function for several years, but it expanded it at the beginning of this year, allowing you to send a photo and operate artificial intelligence to put you in a shirt, dress, skirt or pants that you came across in Google search results. Doppl is an even greater jump, because it allows you to try even more clothes from various sources on the Internet and can also turn it into video. If Google can fix some of the tools, I see that this is a useful way to imagine yourself in the outfit that you will find online.

You can try the POPPL now by downloading the application On Android Or iOS.
